Baptista Wines

The business of Baptista Wines was established in 1996, when an old vineyard in the Heathcote region was purchased. This vineyard has been yielding continuously since its establishment in 1981, and has produced wines that have won substantial numbers of gold medals in national and internation wine shows.

The business is a producer of an icon shiraz varietal wine, produced from these very old vines in only limited quantities. The product has a retail of $120 per bottle in the Australian market and an export price of $550-600 per case FOB export.

The vineyard is the oldest in the Heathcote region – an area becoming increasingly recognised as an outstanding area for shiraz. The wine is made by a winemaker with 33 years experience in the industry, the last 27 in central Victoria.

This vineyard and business is owned by David Traeger, of Nagambie, Victoria.
